About EXIF Viewer & Remover
This EXIF viewer lets you inspect the hidden metadata stored inside JPEG and PNG photos and then strip it out before you share the file. Drop a picture in and ArrayKit lists every EXIF field — camera make and model, lens, exposure settings, timestamps, and the embedded GPS coordinates that reveal exactly where a shot was taken. If location data is present, it flags it with a clear warning so you can act on it. One click removes all metadata and gives you a clean, re-encoded copy to download. It is built for photographers, journalists, privacy-conscious sellers posting listings, and anyone who wants to view photo metadata or remove EXIF data before posting online. Everything runs entirely in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device.

Common errors & troubleshooting
- You selected a non-image file and got a 'Please choose an image file' error. — Pick a JPEG or PNG photo — the tool only inspects image files.
- The metadata list comes back empty. — The image simply has no EXIF data — it may have been exported by an app that already strips it, in which case it is already clean.
- GPS coordinates were not shown even though you expected them. — Location is only embedded if the camera had GPS enabled when the photo was taken; many screenshots and edited exports never contained it.
- The cleaned copy looks slightly different in file size or format. — Stripping re-encodes the image (JPEG at high quality, PNG stays PNG), which removes all metadata but produces a fresh file rather than editing the original in place.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the ArrayKit EXIF Viewer & Remover?
- It is a tool that reads the hidden EXIF metadata inside your photos — including camera details, timestamps and GPS location — and lets you strip all of it out with one click before sharing.
- How do I remove GPS location from a photo?
- Drop the photo into the EXIF viewer; if it contains GPS data it will be flagged, then click 'Remove all metadata' and download the cleaned copy with the location stripped.
- Which image formats does the EXIF remover support?
- It works with common photo formats like JPEG and PNG. Cleaned files are re-encoded, with PNGs staying PNG and other images saved as high-quality JPEG.
- Does removing metadata change how my photo looks?
- No. The visible image stays the same; only the embedded EXIF metadata is removed during re-encoding.
- Are my photos uploaded when I use this EXIF tool?
- No. Photos are read and stripped entirely in your browser, so your images and their location data never leave your device and there is no tracking.
