About Age Calculator
The Age Calculator turns a single date of birth into an exact age you can act on. It reports the precise gap in years, months and days using standard calendar borrowing, then totals it up as whole months and whole days lived, and counts down the days to the next birthday. Because it uses real month lengths and leap years, a February 29 birthday is handled correctly — the countdown folds to February 28 in ordinary years and lands back on the 29th every leap year. It is handy for filling out forms, checking eligibility, planning milestones, or settling a 'how old is this exactly' question. The whole calculation runs on your device; the birth date you enter is never uploaded.

Output
Exact age: 30 years, 0 months, 5 days

Common errors & troubleshooting
- The result shows one fewer year than expected. — Age only counts a full year once the birthday has actually passed this year. Before your birthday you are still the previous age, which is why the years value drops by one until the day arrives.
- A February 29 birthday shows an odd next-birthday date. — In non-leap years there is no February 29, so the countdown uses February 28. On the next leap year the birthday lands back on the 29th.
- Nothing is calculated after entering a date. — Make sure the date is a real calendar day in YYYY-MM-DD form and is on or before today — future birth dates are rejected.
- Total days looks slightly off from a year-times-365 estimate. — The total counts real days including every leap day in the span, so a range covering leap years will be a little larger than 365 per year.
Frequently asked questions
- How does the Age Calculator compute exact years, months and days?
- It subtracts your birth date from today's date field by field, borrowing days from the previous month and months from the year when a value would go negative. That gives a clean breakdown like '30 years, 2 months, 4 days' using real month lengths rather than fixed 30-day months.
- How is a February 29 birthday handled?
- Leap-day birthdays are tracked as February 29. For the next-birthday countdown in a year that is not a leap year, the tool uses February 28, and in leap years it uses February 29, so there is always a concrete date to count toward.
- What is the difference between total months and total days here?
- Total months is your age expressed only in whole calendar months (years times twelve plus the extra months). Total days is the actual number of days you have lived, counting every real day including leap days, from your birth date up to today.
- Why does the age not increase until my birthday?
- A full year is only counted once the anniversary of your birth date has passed. Until this year's birthday arrives, the years value stays at the previous number and the months and days fill in the remainder.
- Can I calculate age as of a specific reference date?
- The page uses today's date as the reference when it loads, shown under the input, and figures your age as of that day. The underlying calculation accepts any reference date, which is how the countdown to your next birthday is worked out.
- Does my date of birth get uploaded anywhere?
- No. The Age Calculator runs entirely in your browser. The date of birth you enter is used only on your device to do the math and is never sent to ArrayKit or any server.
