A collage is really a layout problem: dividing a rectangle into cells, leaving the same gap between neighbours, and filling each cell with a photo without squashing it. This tool solves the layout first, as exact rectangles, and draws afterwards. Choose a grid from 1 × 1 to 4 × 4, one big photo with smaller ones around it, or rows and columns that size every photo by its own shape so nothing needs cropping. Pick a canvas such as 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9 or A4, or type exact pixels. Each photo can be zoomed and nudged inside its cell, dragged onto another cell to swap, and saved at up to 4096 pixels on the long edge.

Example
Input
6 photos · Grid, auto · canvas 4:5 · long edge 2048 px · gap 1.5% · corners 8%
Gaps and padding are percentages of the long edge, so the same look comes out at any export size.
Common errors & troubleshooting
A photo is cropped in the wrong place. — Select it and slide it left, right, up or down inside its cell, or zoom out to 1× and choose a canvas shape closer to the photo, such as Fit photos.
Some photos are faded and not in the collage. — The chosen layout has fewer cells than photos. Pick a bigger grid, or click a faded photo to swap it into the selected cell.
An empty cell shows a plus sign. — The grid has more cells than photos. Add another photo, or switch to a smaller grid; empty cells show only the background.
The saved file is a PNG when WebP was chosen. — Some browsers cannot encode WebP from a canvas. The tool says so and saves a PNG instead; choose JPEG if you need a smaller file.
Frequently asked questions
How many photos can the Photo Collage Maker combine?
Up to twelve at a time. Grids go as large as 4 × 4, which has sixteen cells, so there is always a layout with room for every photo you add.
Will the Photo Collage Maker stretch my photos to fit the cells?
No. Photos are scaled to cover their cell and the overflow is cropped, and you can slide or zoom each one to choose what stays in view. The rows and columns layouts size cells to match the photos so almost nothing is cut.
What size should a collage be for Instagram or a story?
Use 4:5 for a portrait feed post, 1:1 for a square one and 9:16 for a story or reel cover, with a long edge of 1080 or 2048 pixels. The presets set the shape and the long-edge menu sets the resolution.
Can I make a collage with a transparent background?
Yes. Turn on Transparent and save as PNG or WebP. JPEG has no transparency, so a JPEG is filled white instead.
Does a gap or corner radius change when I export at a larger size?
No. Gap and padding are a percentage of the long edge and the corner radius a percentage of each cell, so the saved image looks exactly like the preview at any resolution.
How do I rearrange photos in the collage?
Drag a photo onto another cell to swap them, or select a photo and choose the other cell from the swap menu. Switch the drag mode to move a photo inside its own cell instead.
