Excel & Spreadsheet Tools

ArrayKit's Excel tools cover the jobs that eat spreadsheet time: moving data in, tidying it, and writing the formulas and macros that work on it. The CSV to Excel Converter and JSON to Excel Converter turn data into a typed .xlsx workbook, and the Excel Data Cleaner trims spaces, drops duplicates and standardises dates and numbers. For lookups, the VLOOKUP Formula Generator and INDEX MATCH Formula Generator test the formula on a small sample grid before you paste it. Paste any formula into the Excel Formula Explainer to see it broken down in plain English, pick a task in the Excel Formula Generator, use the Excel Function Translator to switch function names and separators between English and eight other languages, or assemble a macro from ready-made templates with the Excel VBA Macro Generator. Everything runs on your device, so workbooks and formulas are never uploaded.

  • CSV to Excel Converter — Turn CSV or TSV files into a formatted .xlsx workbook in your browser: delimiter detection, header styling, column types and multiple sheets.
  • JSON to Excel Converter — Convert JSON arrays or nested objects into an Excel workbook with flattened columns, one sheet per array and typed cells.
  • Excel Data Cleaner — Clean messy spreadsheets: trim spaces, fix case, remove blanks and duplicates, standardise dates and numbers, then export .xlsx or CSV.
  • VLOOKUP Formula Generator — Build a correct VLOOKUP formula step by step, with IFERROR, exact or approximate match, XLOOKUP and INDEX MATCH alternatives and a live test.
  • INDEX MATCH Formula Generator — Generate INDEX MATCH formulas for left lookups, two-way lookups and multiple criteria, with a live test table and copy-ready output.
  • Excel Formula Explainer — Paste any Excel or Google Sheets formula and get a plain-English, step-by-step breakdown of every function and argument.
  • Excel Formula Generator — Pick a task such as conditional sums, lookups, dates, text splitting or ranking and get a ready-to-paste Excel or Google Sheets formula.
  • Excel Function Translator — Translate Excel formulas between English and German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish and Russian, with correct separators.
  • Excel VBA Macro Generator — Generate ready-to-run VBA macros from a library of tasks (loops, delete blank rows, export sheets to PDF, send mail and more) with your own ranges and names.

Frequently asked questions

Which Excel tools does ArrayKit include?
Converters from CSV and JSON to Excel, an Excel Data Cleaner, VLOOKUP and INDEX MATCH formula generators, an Excel Formula Explainer, a task-based Formula Generator, an Excel Function Translator for localised formulas, and a VBA Macro Generator. Spreadsheet to JSON, CSV and PDF conversions live in the JSON and PDF categories.
Do the Excel tools need Microsoft Excel installed?
No. The converters create .xlsx files and the data cleaner opens and saves them directly in your browser, while the formula tools produce text you paste into Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice later. Excel is only needed when you want to open the results.
Are my spreadsheets uploaded when I use these tools?
No. Workbooks, CSV files and pasted formulas are processed locally on your device and are never sent to a server, which matters for payroll, customer lists and other sensitive sheets. You can confirm it in your browser's network panel while converting or cleaning a file.
How do I check that a generated Excel formula is correct?
The lookup builders include a sample grid that evaluates the formula against the values you type, so you can see the matched row or the #N/A it would return. For other formulas, paste the result into the Formula Explainer to read what each argument does before using it on real data.
Do the formula tools work for Google Sheets as well as Excel?
Mostly. Common functions behave the same in both, and where Google Sheets differs, such as array formulas or QUERY alternatives, the tools show a Sheets variant. Newer Excel-only functions are labelled, and the separator can be switched between commas and semicolons to match your regional settings.
