Common errors & troubleshooting
Converting MP3 to WAV did not improve the sound. — Quality lost to lossy encoding never comes back — WAV just stores the MP3's sound losslessly from here on. Convert to WAV for tool compatibility, not restoration.
The FLAC output is bigger than the source MP3. — Expected: FLAC losslessly preserves the decoded audio, which needs more bytes than the MP3's discarded-detail representation. Archive in FLAC only from lossless sources like WAV or CD rips.
