Handwriting is irregular in four ways at once, and reproducing all four is what separates a written page from a page set in a script font. Each glyph sits slightly off the baseline, leans a little differently, is a fraction bigger or smaller, and the line as a whole drifts from the margin. All four are applied here from a seeded generator, so the page is irregular but reproducible — the same text always gives the same page. Choose the paper as well: ruled, an exercise book with a red margin rule, a grid, plain, or an aged sheet.
Features
Four hands and five papers, including an exercise book with a margin rule
Per-character shift, slant and size variation, plus per-line drift
Untidiness from perfectly even to genuinely irregular
Five ink colours including pencil
Live preview that redraws as you adjust
Flags emoji and symbols a handwriting face cannot draw
Save as a multi-page PDF or the first page as a PNG
How to use the Text to Handwriting
Type or paste your text — a blank line starts a new paragraph
Choose the hand, the paper and the ink
Adjust the size, spacing and untidiness until it looks right
Download the PDF, or save a single page as an image
Example
Input
A three-paragraph letter, casual print on ruled paper, untidiness 55%
Output
1 written page, blue ink, 24 lines.
The seeded wobble means re-rendering gives the identical page, not a new one.
Common errors & troubleshooting
It looks like a normal font, not handwriting. — This device has none of the named handwriting faces installed. Try another hand — the four options list different faces — or open the page on a different device.
Emoji come out as empty boxes. — No handwriting face has glyphs for them. The warning lists which characters are affected; replace them with words.
The lines do not sit on the rules. — The rules are drawn at the line spacing you set, so they always match. If they look off, the text size is large relative to the spacing — raise the spacing.
The preview lags while I drag a slider. — Each change redraws every page, on a short delay so a drag does not queue one render per pixel. Long text takes a moment to settle.
Frequently asked questions
Why does it always produce the same page?
Because the wobble is generated from a seed derived from your text. That is deliberate: re-downloading gives you the page you already approved rather than a different one.
Can I use my own handwriting?
Not here. That needs a font built from samples of your writing, which is a separate exercise; this uses handwriting faces already on your device.
What is the untidiness slider actually changing?
Four things together — how far each character strays from the baseline, how much it leans, how much its size varies, and how far each line starts from the margin. At zero, all four are switched off.
How many pages can I write at once?
As many as the text needs; it is dealt onto pages automatically. Very long text takes proportionally longer to draw, since every page is rendered.
Is the output text or an image?
An image, on each page of the PDF. Written letterforms cannot be real text, so the result is not selectable or searchable.
