About PDF to PowerPoint
There are two reasons to turn a PDF into a deck, and they want opposite things. Sometimes you need the pages exactly as they are, because someone designed them and you are presenting from them; sometimes you need the words back so you can rebuild the argument in your own template. This converter offers both. Page picture mode renders each page at high resolution and drops it full-bleed onto a slide sized to match, so the deck looks identical to the PDF. Editable text mode reads the text layer instead, promotes the largest line on each page to the slide title, and turns the rest into bullets you can retype.

Common errors & troubleshooting
- Text mode produced empty slides. — The PDF has no text layer. Use page picture mode, or recognise the text first and convert the searchable version.
- The .pptx file is very large. — Page pictures are high-resolution images, so a long document gets heavy quickly. Convert only the pages you need, or use text mode.
- PowerPoint says it needs to repair the file. — That usually means the deck was interrupted mid-download. Rebuild it and let the download finish before opening.
- The slide title is the wrong line. — The title is the largest or first heading on the page. If a running head is the biggest text, remove or crop it from the PDF before converting.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my PDF sent anywhere to become a deck?
- No. Rendering and the .pptx packaging both happen in this tab, so an unpublished report never leaves your device.
- Can I edit the text on a page-picture slide?
- No — that slide is a picture. Use the editable text mode when you need to change the words, and combine the two decks if you want both.
- What slide size will I get?
- The PDF's own page size in points, converted to the units PowerPoint uses. A portrait PDF gives you a portrait deck.
- Are hyperlinks in the PDF kept?
- No. Both modes capture what the page says rather than what it links to, so add the links again in PowerPoint if you need them clickable.
- How many pages can I convert at once?
- Up to 60 in page picture mode, which keeps memory use sensible. Split longer documents and merge the decks in PowerPoint.
