The Chart Maker turns a table of numbers into a chart you can drop straight into a report, slide or document. Paste cells from Excel or Google Sheets, or type into the table, and it works out the delimiter, spots the header row and reads 1,234.50, 45% and $99 as plain numbers. Choose grouped, stacked or horizontal bars, a line, an area, a pie or a doughnut, then adjust the titles, legend, value format, colours and canvas size while the preview updates. Axis scales land on round steps of 1, 2 or 5, so the tick labels read cleanly, and bars and areas always start at zero. Export a PNG, transparent if you like, or a vector SVG that stays sharp at any size. Everything is drawn on your device.
Features
Seven chart types: grouped, stacked and horizontal bars, line, area, pie and doughnut
Paste from Excel or Google Sheets — tab, comma and semicolon data with quoted fields and a header row are detected for you
Reads 1,234.50, 45%, $99 and (200) as numbers; text or blank cells simply become gaps
Axis ticks on round 1, 2 or 5 steps, with zero included for bars and areas
Value formats: plain, thousands separators, percent, or a currency symbol of your choice
Six palettes plus a colour picker for every series or slice
Pie and doughnut extras: sort slices, start angle, hole size and percentage labels
PNG at up to twice the canvas size on a solid or transparent background, vector SVG, or copy the image to the clipboard
How to use the Chart Maker
Paste cells from a spreadsheet into the Paste data box, or type into the table — the first column holds the labels and every other column is one series
Pick a chart type, then set the title, axis titles, legend and value format
Tune the palette, series colours, font size and canvas size while the preview updates
Download the PNG or SVG, or copy the PNG to the clipboard
Example
Input
Quarter Online In store
Q1 120 90
Q2 150 110
Q3 170 130
Q4 210 160
Output
Bar chart · 800×500 · SVG 4.5 KB
2 series (Online, In store) · 4 categories · legend at the bottom
A four-row table pasted straight from a spreadsheet: the tabs, the header row and the two series are detected without any setup.
Common errors & troubleshooting
A column of numbers is missing from the chart. — Only cells that read as numbers are charted. Text such as n/a or a dash becomes a gap, and a pasted column with no numbers at all is dropped. Cells that are not numbers are outlined in red in the table.
The pasted data landed in a single column. — The text had no tab, comma or semicolon between the values — columns separated by runs of spaces are the usual cause. Copy the cells straight from the spreadsheet, or put commas between the values.
The first row of numbers became a header, or the header became a data row. — Header detection is automatic. Switch the Header row choice in the paste box to Yes or No to force it.
Value labels are missing on a crowded chart. — Labels that would overlap are left out on purpose. Use a wider canvas, a smaller font size or fewer rows, or read the exact figures from the table.
Frequently asked questions
How do I paste data from Excel or Google Sheets into the Chart Maker?
Select the cells in the spreadsheet and copy them, then press Paste data and paste. Tab-separated cells from Excel and Sheets are recognised automatically, header row included, and the table fills in. You can also paste a block directly into any cell of the table.
Which chart type should I choose in the Chart Maker for my data?
Bars compare categories, and stacked bars show how parts add up to a total. Horizontal bars suit long labels. Lines and areas show change over time. Pie and doughnut charts show shares of a whole and read best with fewer than about seven slices.
How do I export a chart with a transparent background as a PNG?
Set Background to Transparent (dark text) for light pages, or Transparent (light text) for dark slides, then download the PNG. The checkerboard behind the preview is only a guide — the exported file has a real alpha channel.
What is the SVG export from the Chart Maker good for?
It is vector artwork, so it stays sharp at any size and the text stays editable text. That suits print, design tools such as Figma, Illustrator and Inkscape, and websites. Where an app does not accept SVG, such as many upload forms and chat apps, use the PNG instead.
Can I change the colours of individual series or slices in the Chart Maker?
Yes. Choose one of six palettes, or use the colour picker beside any series — or beside any slice in a pie — to set your own. Reset colours returns to the palette.
How many rows and series can the Chart Maker handle?
Up to 200 rows and 12 data columns per chart, which is already more than a chart can show legibly. A larger paste is trimmed to those limits and a message says so.
