Turn pages instead of mirroring them

About Flip PDF Pages

A flip is not a rotation, and confusing the two wastes a sheet of transfer paper. Rotating turns the page and leaves the text readable; mirroring reverses it, which is what an iron-on transfer, a window decal or a back-lit overlay has to be printed with, so that it reads correctly once it is applied. The same operation undoes a scanner that has produced a mirrored file. Pick the axis, choose every page or a selection, and each chosen page is redrawn through a negative scale so the content lands exactly where it should rather than off the sheet.

Features

  • Mirror left to right, flip top to bottom, or do both at once
  • Apply to every page or to a selection such as 1, 3-5
  • Live preview showing what the flip does before you commit
  • Untouched pages are copied through unchanged
  • Page size and orientation are preserved exactly
  • Output named for what happened — mirrored or flipped

How to use the Flip PDF Pages

  1. Drop the PDF onto the page
  2. Choose the axis to flip about
  3. Leave the page box blank for the whole document, or list the pages
  4. Flip and download

Example

Input

t-shirt-design.pdf, mirror left to right, every page

Output

t-shirt-design-mirrored.pdf — text reads backwards on screen, correctly on the shirt.

Transfer paper reverses the image again when it is pressed.

Common errors & troubleshooting

  • The text still reads normally after flipping. — You flipped top to bottom rather than left to right. Only the horizontal mirror reverses reading order; the vertical one turns the page over about its middle.
  • The page came out blank. — The page was almost certainly not in the selection. Leave the page box empty to flip everything, and check the summary line under it.
  • I wanted the page turned, not mirrored. — That is a rotation. Rotate PDF turns pages through a quarter or a half turn and keeps the text readable.
  • Printing produced a normal image, not a mirrored one. — Some print drivers offer their own mirror setting and apply it on top of yours, cancelling it out. Turn the driver's option off.

Frequently asked questions

Does flipping lose any quality?
No. The page is redrawn as a whole through a transform, so vector text and graphics stay vector and nothing is rasterised.
Why would anyone want a mirrored PDF?
Iron-on transfers, window decals applied from the inside, screen-printing films and back-lit signage all need the artwork reversed so that it reads correctly once it has been applied or seen from the other side.
Can I mirror only the even pages?
Yes — list them in the page box. It accepts individual pages and ranges, such as 2, 4, 6-10.
Does this change the page size?
No. Each flipped page keeps its original dimensions and orientation; only the content within it is reversed.
What does flipping both ways do?
It is the same as turning the page through half a turn and then mirroring it — the content ends up rotated 180 degrees and reversed.
