Split a Video into Multiple Parts
Cut one video into several parts — by count or by time — and download them all as a ZIP, right in your browser.
Split Video runs entirely in your browser. Your video is read and split into parts on your own device and is never uploaded to ArrayKit — the file you load never leaves your computer.

About Split Video
Split Video breaks one long recording into several smaller clips right in your browser — no uploading, no waiting on a server. Pick how you want to divide it: into a fixed number of equal parts, or into chunks of a set length such as every 30 seconds, with the final piece holding whatever time is left over. Each part is cut by copying the original streams instead of re-encoding, so splitting is fast and keeps the source quality exactly. When it finishes you can grab every clip at once as a single ZIP, or download individual parts one by one. It works on MP4 and other common formats, and your video is read from your device and split locally — the file never leaves your computer. Handy for chopping a lecture into segments, slicing a long recording for upload limits, or breaking footage into shareable pieces.

Common errors & troubleshooting
- The last part is shorter than the others. — That is expected when splitting every N seconds — the final part holds the leftover time. Use Equal parts if you need every clip the same length.
- A part starts a fraction of a second early or late. — Parts are cut on stream boundaries so splitting stays fast and lossless. If you need one exact section instead, use the Video Trimmer for a frame-accurate cut.
- The video will not load or errors out. — The source may use an unsupported or DRM-protected codec. Try a standard MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM export.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I split a video into parts in my browser?
- Drop your video into Split Video, choose either a number of equal parts or a length like every 30 seconds, and click Split video. The clips are cut on your own device and can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
- Can I split a video into equal parts?
- Yes. Choose Equal parts and enter how many pieces you want, and the video is divided into that many clips of the same length.
- How do I split a video every 30 seconds?
- Choose Every N seconds and enter 30. The video is cut into 30-second clips, with the final clip holding whatever time is left over.
- How do I download all the parts at once?
- After splitting, click Download all (ZIP) to save every clip in a single ZIP archive. You can also download individual parts from the list.
- Does splitting reduce the quality of my video?
- No. Each part is created by copying the original streams rather than re-encoding, so the clips keep the exact quality of the source and the split is very fast.
- Is my video uploaded when I split it?
- No. Split Video runs entirely in your browser. Your video is read and split on your own device and is never sent to ArrayKit or any server.
